Why evaluation pre-prod docs?
evaluating three effectiveness of pre-production documentation is vital in ensuring that the final version that is sent to the production team is effective.

How to evaluate:
the documents need to be considered in relation to:
Suitability of content for meeting the brief and usefulness in aiding the production team in producing the product.
Suitability of content for the target audience

Should use:
Positive language
Consideration for the original designer/creator
Specific feedback on any suggested improvement- Justifying  why it would make the document more effective.

Evaluating floor plan/set design
no annotations- so the crew (director, cameraman) know what goes where
no colour- unaware of the genre
characters are wearing no clothes/costume- unaware of genre/demographic
good clear layout
includes lighting, characters, physical set
No measurements-  we don't know how big the area is.
Clear the set is for a news/quiz/sports show
no positioning for cameraman/crew.
logo tells us its sport related
we know the location

production schedule
clear structure- weeks are outlined so that each department knows whats going on
colour coding- each department have there won colour (to improve further minimise colours to minimise confusion)
make it more interactive- make it look less depressing
very generalised, not entirely accurate.
clearly related to an animation as its the biggest chunk.

Film: 300 Budget: 65million pounds Production 300  entered active production on October 17, 2005, in Montreal  and was shot over the course of sixty days with a 60 million pound budget. 300  was released in North America on March 9, 2007, in both conventional and IMAX theatres. Money Earned  It grossed $28,106,731 on its opening day and ended its North American opening weekend with $70,885,301 breaking the record    for the biggest opening weekend in the month of March and for a Spring release. Post- Production Post-production  was handled by Montreal's  Meteor Studios  and  Hybride Technologies  filled in the bluescreen footage with more than 1,500  visual effects  shots.  300  entered active production on October 17, 2005, in  Montreal ,  and was shot over the course of sixty days  in chronological order  with a budget of $60 million.

How much money did they ask for?-  They initially asked for £250,000 How much did they receive in the end?-  In the end they received a total of £255,564 How many backers did they get?-  They recruited 2,712 backers Why was the director important?-  The director is Vince Regen who was a famous actor, therefore he has lots of contacts for funding and possibly other famous actors featuring in the film How was the film funded?-  The film was funded by selling merchandise,  receiving donations from Actors, friends, family or random people. What was the funding for?-  The funding was for buying clothes, food, cameras, locations, travel etc Why was the funding successful?- The funding was successful as there are famous actors in the film which would attract more donation or they may have contacts are are willing to donate more money What has happened since?-  The film is still in Post-Production waiting to be produced.
